I can see why this book is out of print, very elementary and missing some cultures. I feel it is of very little value if you are really interested in African dance. Photos are nice (just kidding) - there is one of “Bono, of Irish rock group U2, dances with an AIDS orphan in Ugandaâ€... and a photo of Nelson Mandela dancing at a South African Freedom Day celebration but no mention of his cultural group, Xhosa, which has a traditional dance history. The title should have been “A sampling of African Dance†then I would have been less harsh in this review...
Loved the photos. Wish it was longer.
