I read this book front to back in one sitting. There are many books on leadership, marketing and sales - but this book is about operating an organization like a leader who not just wants results, but wants to do it with efficiency and relevance. The frameworks Thompson provides - like BEDD and The Priority Grid - are so simple yet clearly effective that you wonder why you haven't heard about them being best practice in organizations everywhere. After reading this, I've already scheduled my team to have our own 3-Day Business Cleanse - and when a book gets you into action that quickly, it's pretty clear it's a good one.
I'm going to use this as our annual retreat format, not so much as a 'cleanse'. But I think every year business changes so fast you need to cleanse and rebuild anyway. Some nice examples and easy, quick read. No brainer business book for anyone looking to keep their business profitable and innovative.
