Although I have not practiced Buddhist meditation, I adhere to Tibetan Buddhism and especially Bonpo as the most kind and didactic of all religious proposals. Alex Walking narration is completely believable and I can recognize in his descriptions my own experience as both "militant" and private seeker. Special mention to entheogens chapter. Walking is an unprejudiced seeker and his experiences with entheogens are not just realistic but encouraging for those who enter the extraordinary path of existential search in this era.
I learned a lot. I enjoyed the explanations of Buddhism and meditation. The author's personal stories are very vivid. I'll be rereading many parts.

Buddhism. No. Tantric sex and “magic†with people physically changing into Tibetan deities. I am sorry I bought this and couldn’t get 5 chapters in without stopping to write this.
