This book is a good set of notes for individuals who already know a good bit about gardening, and perhaps who have already tried growing microgreens or who have some knowledge about the process. It is not in my opinion a good book for beginners. Here are some aspects of the book which would frustrate a beginner.-- Use of terms which would puzzle a beginner: "brassica," "enzyme inhibitor," "1020 tray" (the author does define the size of the latter, but does not share what it is or how to get it).-- Inadequate explanations of steps: "measure out enough seeds for your chosen tray" (even a mention of how many seeds this might be for a 10 x 20 inch tray might be nice).-- Very few photographs of the process.-- Inadequate explanation of reasoning: one is told to plant the seeds in a tray and then put that tray underneath another planted tray (for one kind of plant) or to cover the tray with a paper towel AND plastic, and then told to ensure good air flow--the reason one would ensure a good air flow around something that is sealed is not intuitive.The book is 85 pages long, not professionally printed (looks self-published), and in VERY LARGE PRINT. It is, basically, the equivalent of about a 20-page .pdf document, with some nice pictures of finished products and only one or two pictures that go along with the process. The information is interesting, but aimed over the head of most beginners. Perhaps there is interesting information on the blog or Facebook page mentioned at the end of the book, but this book is useless for me, as a beginner. This is particularly annoying since it is dramatically over-priced for the length and content.One could get this same amount of information off the Internet, for free, with better instructions. I do not recommend this book for beginners who are trying to start indoor gardening in a simple way which demands little space and little light. It could be helpful as a set of reminders or helpful hints for those who are already accomplished gardeners--but, still, one can get the same information for free, online. It would be a useful book to borrow from the library, briefly, but I could not recommend purchase.
While the book may be small in size, it's certainly full of great information about growing microgreens. The details about how much seed, and whether it needs to be soaked or not make this an invaluable reference on the subject. I'm loving my microgreens and shoots too!

Absolutely wonderful & extremely helpful book on how to grow mikrogreens!
This deceptively small book is loaded with wonderful information that is clear to follow and fun to learn for both the beginner to even those of us who think we know a lot already. It has step by step instructions for growing indoor healthy food any time of the year...no longer are we dependent on a season to harvest fresh, good tasting, healthy food. No green thumb needed. Wonderful recipes included. Compliments to the author for her ability writing a book that captures the needs of both the beginner and the experienced. My husband and I highly recommend trying to grow microgreens at home and using this book as a guide to attain almost guaranteed success, no matter the level of experience.
